Funding announced for Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital
The government has committed to provide funding for the new Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital at Addenbrookeâs.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the funding on Friday 2nd October as part of the Health Infrastructure Plan, committing £3.7 billion for 40 hospitals across England.
The research hospital will bring together the clinical expertise of Cambridge University Hospitals with the scientific expertise of the University of Cambridge and the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Major Centre.
Professor Richard Gilbertson, Director of the CRUK Cambridge Centre and Group Leader at the Institute said: âI would like to take the opportunity to thank all those involved in the incredible partnership between the CRUK Cambridge Centre, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University that has made this possible.â
Todayâs announcement gives a true âgreen lightâ to the building of this much needed facility for our patients.â
