We welcome bright and talented individuals who are eager to explore cancer research through a student placement at our Institute.

If you are studying at another institution and wish to engage in supervised research at the University of Cambridge without registering for a degree, you may be eligible to join us as a visiting student.

Each year, we host approximately 30 visiting students from around the world. However, please note that visiting students must secure their own funding, including visa expenses, and are limited to a maximum stay of one year.

Eligibility

To be considered for a placement, you must meet the eligibility criteria outlined by the University of Cambridge.

You must be a registered student at another institution.

If you are not from a majority English-speaking country, you will also need to provide evidence of meeting the University’s English language requirement. English competency requirements for coming to the Institute as a visiting student are the same as the requirements for our PhD in Medical Science course. We encourage all prospective visiting students to carefully review these requirements before applying.
