Kampala Cancer Biology Summer School

29th September – 3rd October 2025

Cancer is a worldwide problem and global collaborations will provide the best solutions.

Since 2018, the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute and the Uganda Cancer Institute have been working together to share knowledge and resources.

We are pleased to announce that this year we will be running the Cancer Biology Summer School again in Kampala, to build on the success of the joint Summer Research Programme.

Created in collaboration with Dr Nixon Niyonzima, Head of Research and Training at the UCI, and Dr Paul Katongole, Prof Benon Asiimwe and Dr David Kateete at Makerere University, the Summer School is designed to reach a wide audience and is open to both staff and students.

Between the 29th of September and the 3rd of October 2025, researchers from the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute will deliver 5 days of lectures and practical workshops demonstrating state-of-the-art technologies and concepts, all designed to align with ongoing research projects at the Uganda Cancer Institute.

To attend any of the lectures or workshops, you must register to attend.
