PhD Student

Research Group Home Page:

I attended medical school at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and went on to complete an intern year of clinical practice. Having developed a keen interest in science and cancer research towards the end of medical school, I decided to build a career as a Clinician-Scientist. I subsequently received the Clarendon scholarship for an MSc in Integrated Immunology at the University of Oxford. During my Masters, I studied the cGAS-STING innate immune signalling pathway in DNA-repair deficient prostate cancer in Dr Eileen Parkes’ lab. I joined the de la Roche lab in January 2022 for my PhD studies where I am studying how hedgehog signalling is orchestrated in cytotoxic immune cells during the anti-tumour response, funded by the Gates Cambridge scholarship.

Alongside my scientific interests, I am passionate about access to cancer therapeutics in Africa, clinical translation and increasing opportunities for Black people in science. I enjoy playing football, cycling, travelling, and reading books.
