PhD student

Research Group Home Page:

Prior to commencing my PhD, I completed an Integrated Master’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge. During my studies, I have sought out placements in a range of research environments and gained first-hand experience in fields such as biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology. Specifically, for my Bachelor’s thesis, I worked with Dr Katherine Stott at the Biochemistry Department to alternatively classify linker histone H1 based on its physicochemical properties using bioinformatic tools. For my Master’s thesis, I worked in the lab of Professor Tony Kouzarides at the Gurdon Institute, investigating the role of an RNA modifying enzyme TUT7 in pancreatic cancer.

The immune system and its integral role in shaping cancer progression has always been at the forefront of my interests. Keen to explore this further, I undertook a summer internship with the de la Roche group, investigating the role of Hedgehog signalling in cytotoxic T cells. The placement affirmed my motivation to progress my career in immuno-oncology research and I commenced my PhD with the lab in January 2023.

My interests outside the lab include running, yoga, and I am also involved in various entrepreneurial programmes at the University.
