The CRUK Cambridge Institute is a world class centre for cancer research performing leading science ranging from basic cancer biology to clinical application. In the Hannon laboratory we have a long history of developing new tools to address cutting-edge scientific questions. We have recently developed a CRISPR-based resource to target genes both individually or in combination and we believe this will become an invaluable tool for the study of combinatorial therapy in cancer.

We are seeking to hire a dedicated Senior Scientific Associate to propel the further development of this CRISPR-based resource using a series of techniques including molecular biology, cloning, CRISPR editing, cell culture, NGS methods and genome-wide screens. The role holder will operate as part of the newly founded Functional Genomics Facility and will have the possibility of collaborating with Milner Therapeutics for translational research.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in working in a molecular biology laboratory and the ability to work independently. A PhD degree in a relevant field is preferable. The candidate must have expertise in molecular biology and cell culture. Experience in NGS library preparation, genome-wide screens and genome editing technologies is highly desirable. Some experience in NGS data analysis would be advantageous. The successful candidate should be highly organised, show initiative and independent thinking and possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
