An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Cleaning Services Operative (Service Technician) to join our dedicated team in an Institute situated on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The successful candidate will work within a busy Biomedical Resource Unit committed to the highest standards of cancer research.
The Unit operates under the highly regulated Scientific Procedures Act. The facility exists to ensure excellence in animal welfare whilst supporting researchers in their ambitious objectives in cancer research. These objectives are achieved in a legally regulated, well qualified, innovative and ethical facility. The Biomedical Resources Unit has a total staff complement of 27, consisting of a management team, technicians and service staff.
The role holder will be responsible for cleaning and maintenance of areas including rooms that house laboratory animal racks and caging, shower facilities, cage preparation areas as well as cleaning of all other areas that support our rodent facilities. Providing cover for the rodent cage wash and the tasks involved in ensuring the throughput of clean caging to meet the daily needs of the facility as well as bottle washing, autoclaving and supporting technicians in other duties.
The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with good communication skills. Please note this role requires heavy lifting and moving of cage racks. Requests for reasonable adjustments will be considered as far as practically possible.
