After completing his BA (Physiology, Development and Neuroscience) and MBBChir from the University of Cambridge in 2014, Iannish started working as a junior doctor. He developed a keen interest in surgery at that time, which prompted him to complete his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons exam. He has since then worked in the East of England deanery as a specialty registrar in general surgery, with an interest in colorectal surgery.
He was awarded a Clinical Research Training Fellowship from CRUK in 2020, and is currently a PhD student in the Winton lab. His research currently focuses on clonal interactions in intestinal neoplasia.
