Boya was born in China and grew up in Florida. She received a bachelors in chemistry from the University of North Carolina. Currently, she is an MD PhD student - she completed two years of medical school at UNC and am now completing a PhD through NIH-Oxcam program. Her advisors are Drs. Louis Staudt (NIH) and Nitzan Rosenfeld/Carlos Caldas (CRUK CI). Her research interests are cancer genomics and bioinformatics. Ultimately, Boya is excited to be a physician scientist in oncology.
