My role is to implement and develop magnetic resonance imaging methods for molecular imaging in cancer. I use a range of MR techniques to find new ways to monitor treatment response using preclinical cancer models, to find diagnositic and staging imaging markers of cancer and, in collaboration with other groups, potential clinical biomarkers for other diseases. Techniques that we use include molecular imaging with dissolution dynamic nuclear polarised molecules and deuterium metabolic imaging. I also investigate novel MRI methods for measuring perfusion, membrane transport, cell tracking and reporter gene technology.
