Sarah Bohndiek’s Group are pioneering a new imaging technique with the potential to identify pre-cancerous chemical changes in cells using a holographic endoscope.  The equipment was developed jointly by the University’s departments of Engineering and Physics.  The endoscope is being used in an exploratory trial into the early detection of oesophageal cancer. Sarah appeared on the BBC to discuss the potential for multispectral imaging to detect a variety of cancers.
