On Saturday, a team of scientists from the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute will be taking part in the Cancer Research UK Relay For Life event at Wilberforce Road in Cambridge.

Relay For Life is a unique 24 hour celebration of life and hope which unites the local community to help beat cancer. Teams of between 8 to 15 people, of all ages, levels of fitness and from all walks of life take it in turns to walk round a track while everyone else enjoys a wide range of fun activities on offer, including live music.

As Relay For Life is non-stop through the night, those team members not on the track can take turns to rest, eat, or sleep in their tents nearby.

Alongside the Cambridge Relay for Life, local families are invited to come along to join in the Charity Fun Weekend where you’ll get to see local bands; Tantris, The Following and Caustic Lights perform, attend a Salsa Class and get free access to the Candle of Hope Ceremony. There will also be charity stalls and games, as well as cancer awareness information.
