My research interest is focused in the establishment of reliable pre-clinical models that can represent the complex genomic profiles and intra-tumour heterogeneity of high grade serous ovarian cancer and therefore be used in drug screens with the aim of providing appropriate therapeutics for women.


I have developed methods for characterizing and screening patient-derived ascites spheroids in high-throughput short-term drug assays and CyTOF experiments.

I have also exhaustively grown patient-derived cells in 2D with the aim of generating finite and continuous cell lines and have greatly improved the survival rates of the in vitro model systems by developing and establishing the methods for growing patient-derived cells as organoids. The organoid models recapitulate the genomic and drug-sensitivity landscapes of the patient.
